The AIM-Progress APAC hub is organising an in-person event week in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 4-7 September 2023. This is an opportunity for members and suppliers of AIM-Progress to connect, discuss, and share learnings on selected topics to drive responsible sourcing practices in Malaysia.

You can find the outline of the programme below:

• 4 September (full day) -AIM-Progress Supplier Event, kindly sponsored by Unilever, focused on Malaysia Supply Chains “Sharing Accountability for Human Rights” at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral - see final agenda here
• 5 September (full day) - Field visit jointly organized by AIM-Progress and the Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) to the Sime Darby Palm Oil Experience Centre (POEC), Carey Island.
• 6 September (full day) - Roundtable on Responsible Recruitment jointly organized by the CGF, the Institute for Human Rights and Business (IHRB), and the Responsible Labor Initiative (RLI)
• 7 September (half day in the morning) - APAC Hub Regional Meeting kindly hosted by Barry Callebaut 

The AIM-Progress Malaysia supplier event “Sharing Accountability for Human Rights” on 4 September is kindly sponsored by Unilever and is facilitated by Embode with the intervention of various expert speakers. This event will cater to different supplier maturity levels, through the inclusion of various interactive breakout sessions and relevant case studies. This year’s sessions will include topics such as Purchasing practices – aligning on Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD); Regulatory frameworks and approach for fair and ethical recruitment of foreign workers; Upstream transparency in supply chain tiers; Challenges and opportunities in increasing HRDD requirements. The event will link into our current Ganapati project as well as the Supplier Consultation Engagement.
