AIM-Progress announces new Executive Director

We are extremely pleased to announce that Louise Herring will officially join AIM-Progress as our new Executive Director, as of 1 February 2022.

Louise is an ethical trade and human rights specialist with over twenty years of experience working for private, non-governmental and not-for-profit organisations including Accenture, Sainsbury’s and Comic Relief. She is the founder of Food Network for Ethical Trade (FNET), which she established in 2017, building the membership over the last four years to 60 corporate members. FNET works predominantly with UK-based food companies, brands and retailers to create a safe and non-competitive space for identifying, sharing and addressing human rights issues. She has run her own consultancy firm since 2015, predominantly working with global retailers, brands and food companies to develop their human rights strategies.

"I am delighted to assume the AIM-Progress Executive Director role and excited by the opportunity to combine my passion for human rights with my experience leading member-driven organisations," says Louise Herring on her new appointment.

She will be responsible for catalysing and scaling delivery of the AIM-Progress strategy and deliverables, with the Secretariat, to help our members achieve their own commitments for responsible sourcing and sustainable supply chains.

As the new Executive Director, Louise will lead in shaping and promoting AIM-Progress externally to engage a strong and diverse network of people and organizations, both in terms of membership and partnerships, to accelerate positive impact for responsible sourcing and human rights.

We are most indebted to David Lawrence, our long-standing Executive Director since 2014, for having helped set up and then lead AIM-Progress to what it is now - a strong organisation with further potential for great work in the future.
